For months I have been knitting, tearing out, re knitting and tearing out to come up with a pattern for an ear warmer I like. Many patterns I found online had holes in them to create a lacey look. I wanted this to be a solid knit headband styled ear warmer. I didn't want holes and have spots that windy Kansas air could whip in. Of course knitting in stockinette stitch causes things to curl. This has some curl but not terrible.
The teal yarn is baby alpaca yarn I bought from a local yarn shop, Twist. The white fair isle knitted areas are made from angora rabbit fur I hand spun from a bunny my mom used to own.
I slipped the fist stitch of every row to give a nice little edge to it. Since this was knitted on straight needles you will see where the color changes happen on the back. Since they are not horribly long I didn't worry about it.
I'm happy to share the pattern but this is my first attempt to actually write out my own pattern. So please bear with me. If you're having trouble don't hesitate to contact me.
Headband is approximately 22 inches around. To make the band smaller or longer just add or subtract from the first 12 rows of this pattern. It's 3 inches wide.
